The Coronavirus couldn’t put a stop to the students of Rotherham United Sports College enjoying their annual awards celebration featuring Paul Warne and Lee Frecklington.
Paul Warne kicked off the event by congratulating the students on their achievements this year, which has been significantly disrupted by the impact of the Covid-19. He praised their hard-work and determination and offered some wise words as they progress into the next steps of their career.
Club legend Lee Frecklington also congratulated the students and shared some of his experiences through a short Q & A. He spoke about the importance of education and offered some sound advice to those who are aspiring to work in professional sport.
A wide range of awards were presented to students for both education and football. Drew Russell received the prestigious overall student of the year award, while Hannah Jones received RUCST involvement award due to volunteering at various events throughout the year and supporting other areas of the Trust. Education Manager James Mahoney concluded the event by congratulating all students for their hard-work and achievements. He also praised their resilience and ability to adapt to ensure that the last few months have not prevented the students achieving their goals.
