Rotherham United can confirm that winger Julien Lamy has joined AFC Wimbledon on loan until the end of the season, subject to EFL and FA ratification.

The Frenchman joins the Dons in a temporary switch for the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign having found first team opportunities limited since his summer arrival in South Yorkshire.

Lamy has turned out five times in all competitions for the Millers, most recently in the league game against Peterborough United at London Road.

Rotherham United manager Paul Warne is hopeful that the French attacker will benefit from more regular first team opportunities at Kingsmeadow.

“Julien has been doing really well for us since coming in the summer and I just see this as the next stage of his development,” he told www.themillers.co.uk.

“He is unfortunate that our wingers are in great form at the moment meaning that his chances in the first team have been limited here.

“I think first team football is what he needs now and hopefully he can get more of that with AFC Wimbledon. I spoke to Dawsy [Nick Daws] and after our conversation I believe he can thrive under the management there for the rest of this season.

“As we do with all of our loan players, we’ll have him watched regularly and keep in touch, getting regular feedback on his progress from the staff at AFC Wimbledon.”

Everyone at Rotherham United would like to wish Julien the best for the period of his loan.
