Rotherham United manager Paul Warne has been nominated for the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month Award for the month of January.
The Millers helped themselves to four wins from their five league games in the opening calendar month of 2020, with triumphs over the likes of Oxford United and Bristol Rovers propelling them to top spot in the third tier.
The January nominations for the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month Award are:
Kenny Jackett (Portsmouth)
Seven wins in all competitions in January for Jackett’s side, three of them in League One to give Pompey 10 points from a possible 12 and prove the club’s owners right to trust in his patience and calmness through a poor start.
Darren Moore (Doncaster Rovers)
His side seem to have been playing fixture catch-up all season, but with six games yielding 13 points and just two goals conceded thanks to his defensive knowledge, this was the month in which they joined the promotion race.
Phil Parkinson (Sunderland)
Possibly the only man on Wearside not panicking in December, Parkinson made the bold call to drop Aiden McGeady, instilled a togetherness in his squad and led them to 14 points and a 10-2 goal differential from six unbeaten games.
Paul Warne (Rotherham United)
The January fixture list looked a daunting one for Warne’s men with five games against sides in the top half. Instead, their attacking intent made light work of it, winning four matches, scoring ten goals and moving top of the table.
