Rotherham United’s youngsters added another three points to their already impressive Youth Alliance League tally on Saturday as they saw off the challenge of Lincoln City at Sheffield Hallam University Sports Park, winning 2-1.

The Millers’ Academy were dealt a huge blow recently in losing recently-signed professional Jacob Gratton, but have managed to maintain their form in his absence with their most recent triumph coming over the Imps.

It was the visitors who took the lead around midway through the first half and they would hold that advantage until the interval despite the best efforts of the Millers.

However, goals on the hour and moments from the end from Ethan Kenny and Wilfred Peel-Evans ensured that the side led by Ciaran Toner remain unbeaten in league and cup competitions since the turn of the year.

At present, the Millers are third in the Youth Alliance league table but do have games in hand over division leaders Doncaster Rovers.

Millers | Farrar; Hodgkinson (Millen 45), Makwedza, Smith, Spence; Hull, Scott, Kenny, Greaves; Peel-Evans, McGuckin.

Unused | Ellis, Hanley, Salah, Wenham.
