Rotherham United forward Joshua Kayode has rejoined Carlisle United on loan for the duration of the 2020/21 campaign.

The young attacker has been put through his paces alongside his Millers teammates since their return to pre-season training under the watchful eye of Paul Warne and his staff and departs for Carlisle having expressed his desire to build on his progress with more first team football.

Whilst the term of the loan is for the entirety of the 2020/21 season, the clubs have agreed a recall clause which can be exercised by the Millers during the January transfer window.

Having impressed during a loan switch to non-league Gateshead in the early stages of the 2019/20 campaign, Kayode returned to AESSEAL New York Stadium in January 2020 before taking the next step in his development by making a temporary switch to Brunton Park.

The 19-year-old adjusted quickly to the step up the football pyramid, scoring his first goal for the Cumbrians in his second outing in their colours.

He would go on to make five appearances in total with a return of three goals to his name before the 2019/20 season was curtailed as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Everyone at Rotherham United would like to wish JJ all the best for his stint at Brunton Park.
