Rotherham United Under-18s continued their fine start to their Youth Alliance League campaign by emphatically beating Chesterfield on Friday, with the Millers coming out on top in an eight-goal thriller.

Jerome Greaves added another strike to his tally after a blistering start in front of goal this term, whilst Robbie Gateshill also found the net. Jacob Gratton and Wilfred Peel-Evans both registered braces too, helping Ciaran Toner's men to an impressive victory.

The Millers scored their first of the game on 37 minutes as Peel-Evans fired one past the goalkeeper, and Rotherham found their second on the stroke of half-time courtesy of Gateshill.

Following the restart, Rotherham rallied to find the net on four more occasions. Greaves was on target on 62 minutes before Gratton bagged his first of the match to put his side in the driving seat.

Peel-Evans then pounced to beat the goalkeeper with eight minutes left to play, and Gratton wrapped things up late on at Sheffield Hallam University Sports Ground.

Millers | Farrar; Millen (McGuckin 73'), Hull, Beeden, Smith (Salah 82'); Scott (Hanley 77'), Spence, Gratton, Peel-Evans; Gateshill, Greaves.

Unused | Ellis, Kenny.
