Rotherham United are delighted to be teaming up with the Rotherham United Community Sports Trust to dedicate their Sky Bet League One fixture against Bolton Wanderers to supporting the ‘Be the One’ suicide prevention campaign.
The Millers will be pledging their support to the Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council initiative which is in place to reduce the number of lives lost to suicide in Rotherham.
Every life lost to suicide is an individual tragedy. It also has a widespread and devastating impact on friends, family and the wider community.
Nobody should feel that suicide is the only way out of their current situation.
Everyone should have easy access to support and advice when they are feeling depressed, scared and alone.
We must all learn how to look out for one another and do our bit to help those in distress.
The Millers and the RUCST will be handing out flyers with information on the ‘Be the One’ campaign out prior to the game against Bolton Wanderers this weekend, while an informative video will be shown on the big screen inside AESSEAL New York Stadium at half time.
Also included in the community notes in the programme is information on the campaign and how the Rotherham area has recently been involved with supporting the initiative.
