Rotherham United's Academy remain unbeaten in the Youth Alliance League after five outings, and they will head into Friday's fixture away to Burton Albion full of confidence.
The young Millers kicked off their campaign with a 1-0 win over Mansfield Town back in August, and they followed that up with a draw against Doncaster Rovers before ending the month on a high with a 6-2 victory against Chesterfield.
September has also been positive for Ciaran Toner's side, with a draw away at Lincoln City prolonging the unbeaten league run. The hosts did find the net twice, but goals from Robbie Gateshill and Wilfred Peel-Evans earned Rotherham a point.
A long trip to Carlisle United was next on the agenda for the Millers as they faced the Cumbrians in the Youth Alliance Cup, but the hours spent travelling were all made worth it as Jacob Gratton's strike just after the hour-mark sealed a hard-earned win.
There was certainly plenty of entertainment last time out too as Rotherham hosted Bradford City, but Toner's team came out on top in a nine-goal thriller. Ethan Kenny, Ciaran McGuckin and Luke Hodgkinson all found the net for the Millers, with Gratton and Peel-Evans firing home the other two to down the Bantams.
Burton Albion are the final opponents to come up against the Academy this month, and Rotherham will be determined to come away from Staffordshire with another favourable result.
