Rotherham United's Academy suffered their first defeat of the 2019/20 Youth Alliance campaign on Friday, narrowly losing out to Chesterfield away from home.
Javanne Smith rattled in a quick-fire double for the hosts despite a bright start from the Millers, but Jerome Greaves hit one back when a poor clearance paved the way for him to latch onto a cross and head home from close range.
The Millers were persistent as they searched for a leveller, but they were unable to restore parity in Derbyshire as the Spireites held on to secure all three points.
