Rotherham United manager Paul Warne spoke to www.themillers.co.uk ahead of the trip to face Lincoln City at Sincil Bank in the Leasing.com Trophy on Tuesday night.

The Millers boss reflected on his side’s progression in the Emirates FA Cup and their second round draw, whilst giving an overview of the current injury situation at Roundwood.

Warne’s Maidenhead United reflections…

“I thought the lads were really good to be fair. They were patient, which we asked them to be and there was always going to be an effort from the opposition because at that level of football, you're almost guaranteed that.

“There were always going to be incidents in the game in which they were going to invade your box and we had to defend but I think we limited them to one attempt on our goal and dominated the game.

“I think it is disrespectful to just turn up anywhere and assume you'll win the game because they're in a league below, or lower in the league than you. The lads deserved their win and I'm really pleased we're in the next round.”

Warne on facing Solihull Moors in Round Two of the Emirates FA Cup…

“It's a bit closer luckily! It is another tie that we're obviously going to go and try to win but it will cause us problems, possibly even more than at Maidenhead. The lads will have to be at their best to go through and if they do then great. If Solihull are better than us on the day then they'll deserve the win.”

Warne’s update on Richard Wood’s injury sustained at the weekend…

“He's damaged his hamstring, so he'll be out for a period of time. We're thinking it could be around four weeks that he's missing for.”

Warne on whether anyone else sustained any fresh injuries in the game at Maidenhead…

“No, we've still got the ongoing problem with Joe Mattock's back. Trev won't be fit, but I think everybody else will be fine.

“Robbo is available for selection tonight. He trained with the squad yesterday for the first time and looked good. It might be too soon to throw him back in, but he will travel with the squad tonight.”

Warne on team selection ahead of the trip to Sincil Bank…

“I'm going to freshen the team up. Obviously we have another big game at home to Accrington on Saturday and the game last weekend on a heavy pitch which took a lot out of them so I'll be introducing some new faces to the group tonight.”

Warne on Leasing.com Trophy clash with Lincoln City…

“We want to win the game and if we go behind, you'll see me looking to make changes to the team to try and win the game. We'll prepare for the game as we always do and there is no football team in the world that goes into a game wanting to lose and we'll be no different ahead of tonight.”
