Tony Stewart talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

Rotherham United Chairman Tony Stewart is in no doubt under the tutelage of manager Paul Warne, the club will continue to move forward.

Warne is set to lead the Millers into his third full season at the helm, in what has been a progressional period for the club with him as first-team manager.

After securing promotion from League One at the first time of asking, Warne won many an admiring glance for the way the Millers bravely fought their relegation battle in possibly the strongest Championship division to date.

Despite relegation, there were many positives to take from last season, leaving the Chairman to reiterate that the club is in good hands with Warne and his staff at the helm.

Mr Stewart informed www.themillers.co.uk: “There is no better person to lead this football club into next season than Paul Warne.

“I have seen progress in all aspects of the club. We are fortunate to have a manager in Paul Warne who understands the club, he gets what works here and what doesn't - under his leadership there is no doubt in my mind, despite relegation, he is still very much progressing our football club.”

Under Warne, the Millers re-connected with methods which have served the club well during previous successful eras – many of which came from when the current boss was a player himself.

The Chairman hailed his manager for recreating the ‘Rotherham DNA’, stating Warne doesn’t just brings skills as a football manager, but offers so much more as an individual.

He continued: “Paul shares the culture of Rotherham United. He and his staff have worked very hard to develop this particular aspect amongst his playing staff. He has been associated with this club for many years, and he understands what this club is about. He has really put the 'Rotherham DNA' back to the top of the agenda, and you can see it instilled in his players when they go out onto the field.

“We have a manager here who has integrity and honesty - something which sometimes can be lacking in the game. He isn't just a football manager, he has so many other key characteristics which make him a unique individual.

“We are thrilled to have him as our manager. He has helped create a pattern of characteristics which we look for in a player or member of staff, and if you don't match the checklist, then you aren't for us. If you do, then you’ll enjoying playing here because we have a group of staff who get the best out of their players.”
