Rotherham United can confirm that they will play their first friendly of their 2019/20 pre-season preparations against Parkgate FC on Saturday 6th July.
The Millers will take on the Steelmen on the top pitch at Roundwood as per previous years, in a 1pm kick off.
Entry prices will be £6 for adults and £4 for concessions for the Millers’ first friendly of the summer.
Paul Warne’s men will depart for their overseas training camp in Germany on the following Monday 8th July.
Upon confirmation of the fixture, Warne was quick to praise the staff at Roundwood for their continued support in hosting the club at the training ground and is hopeful of seeing another big crowd ahead of the new campaign.
“This fixture has become cemented as the curtain-raiser for the lads and it is always really good to see the fans back and stood out in the sunshine after the summer break,” he explained.
“We have worked with Albert, Claire and the rest of the staff up at Roundwood for a long time now and they are always so accommodating and supportive of everything we do.
“Hopefully we can get another big crowd up there this year to see the lads back in action before we fly out to Germany to put them through their paces.
"We are hopeful of playing two friendlies during our week in Germany, but as I understand it, those games need to be ratified by our FA before we can make any announcements."
