Matt Hamshaw talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

Rotherham United first team/development coach Matt Hamshaw says the coaching hierarchy at the club have been impressed by the two players, who joined the Millers on trial for the reserve game at Port Vale on Wednesday.

Hamshaw, who oversaw the Central League fixture at Vale Park in midweek, fielded both players in the 1-1 draw with Port Vale, and added that the door will not be closed just yet on the duo.

“We've been impressed with them both and it's something we'll look at potentially,” he told www.themillers.co.uk.

“They've both done well but circumstances at the moment might dictate how we go about them going forwards.

“We had a look at a left winger and a 'keeper and they've both done really well.

“It's a good opportunity in the international break to get them in and have a look at them. Obviously we'll have a good chat as a group of staff and see how we move them forward.”

The first team coach continued to add that he and the rest of the Millers first team staff will continue to take these opportunities to look at potential additions, as the club move forward in restructuring the recruitment department.

“We've got a few more pressing issues before we look at the possibility of taking anyone but it's good to keep our ear to the ground and if anyone becomes available we'll look at them,” Hamshaw added.

“We'll probably look to get one of them back in and it may even involve staying full-time, but that will be a decision we make over the course of time.”
