Paul Warne talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

The importance of the backing from the AESSEAL New York Stadium faithful has never been a point lost on manager Paul Warne.

The Millers boss has often chimed his appreciation of some of the special atmospheres which has already graced a venue which is still very much in its infancy.

During the second-half of Saturday’s crucial Championship showdown with Blackburn, Warne sensed there was understandable tension on and off the field, but hailed the home supporters for lifting the players to what could prove to be a vital three points in the race for Championship survival.

“It is that time of the season now, and I could sense there was tension around the place which I can understand,” Warne told www.themillers.co.uk

“Then the crowd suddenly increased the decibels and I genuinely could see a change in the players. The supporters were fantastic, and at such a crucial point in the game, it really made a difference. I have said it thousands of times, but I cannot stress the point enough, the backing of the supporters really does make a difference, and means the world to the players.

“There’s no doubt in my mind, when the fans are right behind the lads, they relax and feed off the noise levels. You could see it, especially second-half on Saturday.

“I have been touched by the levels of support we have had all season, and with 11 cup finals remaining we are going to really need everyone playing their part. I know we’ll get 100% from the terraces, and they know they’ll get 100% from the players. I wouldn’t expect it any other way.”

With just five home games remaining, Warne knows the importance of the 12th man as the Millers are set to welcome the likes of Norwich, Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa, Birmingham and Middlesbrough to South Yorkshire.

Warne continued: “We can expect a sizeable travelling support from all of the clubs who’ll come here for the rest of the season. I like that though, when we have a large away following, I feel it really gets the home supporters engaged.

“It would be great to see a full house for the rest of the season. Our attendances have been brilliant all season, and from experience, when the stadium is full and rocking we always rise to the occasion.

“Please come to our fantastic stadium and cheer and sing, if you can’t, get the person beside you in full voice. Your support really could make all the difference.”

With the clocks set to change shortly, and the warm weather firmly on the horizon, the Millers are looking to create a sea of red across the stadium for the remaining home games.

The Red and White Shop has slashed prices on all replica kit, with 50% off while stocks last.
