Will Vaulks joins Cardiff City...
Rotherham United midfielder Will Vaulks has joined Cardiff City for an undisclosed club record sale.
The 26-year-old departs AESSEAL New York Stadium after three seasons which included a prominent role in the promotion to The Championship via the Play-offs in 2018.
Vaulks has penned a three-year deal with the Bluebirds after impressing former Millers boss Neil Warnock with his performances last season, which saw the Wirral-born ace net eight times in 43 appearances in all competitions.
Vaulks picked up several personal accolades during his time with the club including the 2019 EFL Community Player of the Year award, two club Community Player of the Year awards and the 2017/18 Player of the Year award.
The Wales international departs South Yorkshire with the best wishes of boss Paul Warne, who told www.themillers.co.uk:
“Will leaves Rotherham United having made a huge contribution both on and off the field. He has become a very popular figure at the club and within the local community. He has epitomised everything about how I wanted Rotherham United to play during my time as manager, and has been a joy to coach.
“He has given me 100% week in, week out and thoroughly deserves his opportunity to play in The Championship. His rise from non-league to where he is today says everything about the guy and his desire to succeed. He is a shining example to any young pro. His day-to-day attitude has been first class, and we wish him all the best at Cardiff where I’m sure he’ll be a huge success under Neil and his staff.”
Overall, Vaulks made 137 appearances in all competitions, scoring 17 goals.
Everyone at Rotherham United would like to thank Will for his contribution to the club and we wish him well for the future.
