American defender signs at New York...

Rotherham United have signed USA international Matthew Olosunde on a two-year deal, subject to EFL and FA ratification.

The former Manchester United full-back becomes the sixth summer signing, hot on the heels of the arrival of Dan Barlaser in a loan deal from Newcastle United.

The 21-year-old moved to England after being spotted by Manchester United playing for New York Red Bulls in 2016, and enjoyed three years at Old Trafford before joining the Millers.

The Philadelphia-born operator, who is a right-back capable of also playing on the left, starred for the USA through the youth age groups, before winning his first senior cap in May 2018 against Bolivia.

Olosunde will be part of the squad shortly flying out for the pre-season camp in Germany on Monday.

He will join fellow new signings Carlton Morris, Shaun MacDonald, Freddie Ladapo, Julien Lamy and Dan Barlaser who have already arrived at the club during the close season.
