Rotherham United have announced a name change for their female team, which will now be known as Rotherham United Women Football Club.
Rotherham United Women Football Club currently play in North East Regional Women's League Premier Division
Jamie Noble, Chair of Rotherham United Women Football Club said "Rotherham United Ladies will now be known as Rotherham United Women Football Club as we continue to work on improving all aspects of the team both on and off the pitch,"
“The new name reflects Rotherham's position within the sport. It is representative of a modern view on language and equality, and is in keeping with the way our governing bodies, supporters, squad and management regard the women's game.”
