RUCST are delighted to be partnered with the EFL Trust to deliver a new initiative You vs Train. Every year hundreds of people unintentionally take on the railway and lose. 170 people have lost their life in the last 10 years and many more have suffered life changing injuries.
The project aims to educate young people on the dangers of stepping on a railway line in the hope that once they are aware of the dangers they will be less likely to display risky behaviour when it comes to the railway network.
The one hour sessions will be delivered to 600 young people over the coming months, who will also all be challenged to pass their new knowledge onto at least one other person.
The sessions which have been delivered so far have received an excellent response with all participants stating that they learnt something new and would now think differently about trespassing on a railway line.
