RUCST | Richie Towell Visit to Thrybergh Fullerton School

6 February 2019

Millers Midfield maestro Richie Towell surprised children at Thrybergh Fullerton C of E Primary school by taking a school assembly. Rotherham United Community Trust work in a number of schools across the Rotherham Borough, and our very own number 13 visited to meet the children who have taken part in a number of Trust initiatives around health, nutrition, literacy, nurture groups and PE.

“My love for football started when I was young in school so it is always a pleasure to come and visit and meet the children. As players we are always keen to support the fantastic work of the Community Sports Trust, I am always amazed at the amount of work they do and how sport can help to inspire and educate” added Towell.

“The role of a nurture group is to model positive relationships through developing children’s language and communication skills as well as focusing on their social/emotional wellbeing. By having Richie attend, this enhanced the key purpose for the session as the children could interact and take inspiration from a Rotherham United football player” added Claire Robertson, Primary Education Coordinator for Rotherham United Community Sports Trust.
