There will be a noticeable difference for Paul Warne when he returns to home action against Blackburn Rovers at the AESSEAL New York Stadium next month.

When Warne and his staff take their seats on March 2nd, they are likely to feel the benefits of the latest stadium upgrade.

Following support from a local businessman, the seats in the dugouts have been upgraded to the comfortable ‘racing style’ which have become popular at various stadiums in recent years.

There is also a very special logo emblazoned on the seats, with the sponsorship generously donated to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

The Millers have been long-standing partners with the local charity, through our links with the Rotherham United Community Sports Trust, and through current midfielder Will Vaulks, who is often seen at Bluebell Wood in his role as a proud ambassador and volunteer.

Commercial director Steve Coakley told www.themillers.co.uk:

“When discussions over the possibility of upgrading the dugout seats started, we approached a number of parties regarding the idea of sponsorship.

“One local businessman offered to pay for the sponsorship rights, but very kindly donated this to Bluebell Wood, with their logo now proudly positioned in the dugouts.

“I know Paul Warne and the players have often visited Bluebell Wood and hold a real affinity with a local cause, which has provided support and care to many families over the years.

“We have been closely connected over the years, even more so with Will becoming an ambassador, so when the suggestion was made to link up with Bluebell Wood, we were obviously right behind it.”

Matt Sheridan, Corporate Fundraiser at Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice, added:

"When we received the call to let me know that a local businessman had sponsored the dugout seating at RUFC, and had donated the rights to Bluebell Wood, we were blown away by their generosity.

“Our Care Team support children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions from right across the region. Having our logo in such a prominent position within the stadium is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of who we are in the very heart of one of the communities that we serve, as well as the chance to be seen by people from even further afield.”
