The Millers Academy progressed into the Area Quarter-Final of the Youth Alliance Cup on Friday afternoon, beating Fleetwood Town on home soil in a tightly contested encounter to ensure their campaign would go beyond the group stages.
Ciaran Toner's side got off to a bright start as Jacob Gratton found the back of the net with just 14 minutes on the clock, and Ethan Kenny grabbed the Millers' second of the game midway through the first half.
Gratton then popped up once more on the stroke of the interval, and he fired what proved to be the decisive goal beyond the goalkeeper.
Rotherham United will now face Burton Albion in the next round, with a date yet to be confirmed for the fixture.
