READ | Matt Crooks up for November's Goal of the Month

16 December 2019

Millers midfielder Matt Crooks has been nominated for the Sky Bet League One Goal of the Month award for November, with his first goal against Gillingham making the shortlist of strikes.

It was an afternoon to remember for Rotherham as they ran out as comfortable 3-0 victors at Priestfield Stadium, but Crooks stole the headlines with a brace that included an incredible lobbed effort from distance.

You can watch the highlights from the game and take another look at the goal in focus below:

The full list of nominations are:

Matt Crooks – Gillingham v ROTHERHAM UNITED – 2nd November

Having begun the move on the edge of his own area, Crooks combined technique and vision majestically as he touched on a return pass before chipping home from 30 yards

Liam Walsh – COVENTRY CITY v Rochdale – 16th November

A stunning individual effort by Walsh, who took possession on the halfway line and used his dancing feet to dribble past three opponents before unleashing an unstoppable shot.

Joe Ward – PETERBOROUGH UNITED v Burton Albion – 23rd November

Ward makes the shortlist for the second successive month, this time with an injury-time winner as he took it upon himself to drive a rising shot from distance into the roof of the net.
