With Christmas Day fast approaching, Rotherham United are getting into the festive mood by welcoming a very special guest to Saturday afternoon’s Sky Bet League One fixture with Fleetwood Town.

Father Christmas will be taking time out of his busy festive schedule to pay a visit to Rotherham United Community Trust’s Fan Zone ahead of kick off at this weekend's game, as he will be outside in his grotto.

Prior to delivering presents around the world, Santa will make a special stop off here in South Yorkshire and will be available to meet from 1:45pm, so make sure you pop along and say hello to him before he heads back to the North Pole.

As we all know, Father Christmas is a very generous man and he will be giving away a few gifts at the weekend. You could get your hands on a selection box full of delicious chocolates for you to sink your teeth into.

There will be plenty of other activities in the Goal Zone too, with a Christmas colouring competition open to enter.

Those who attend will also have the opportunity to write a letter to Santa, so it could be one last chance to tell him what you would like as a present this year!

Jamie Noble, Head of Community said: “As a football club, we are determined to play our part in ensuring that Rotherham and the wider community enjoy the festive period, so we are delighted to be welcoming Santa himself along to the AESSEAL New York Stadium on Saturday.

“Father Christmas has kindly agreed to come along for the last few years now, and as ever, we are grateful to him for making the long journey across to be with us. He puts smiles on the faces of loads of Millers fans, young and old, so we are really excited to see him once more this time around.

“Be sure to get yourself down to the Goal Zone and you can get a picture with the man himself, whilst also having the opportunity to come face to face with our loveable club mascot, Miller Bear, who will also be doing the rounds.”
