Dan Barlaser talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

On loan Newcastle United midfielder Dan Barlaser says that whilst he and his Millers teammates do not need any encouragement to leave everything out on the pitch, the absence of a first team fixture for over a week will allow them to go all out in Saturday’s clash with Burton Albion.

The playmaker, who has featured heavily for Paul Warne’s side since his arrival from Tyneside, explains that his new boss constantly reinforces the need to give everything in games but admits that the lack of a game following the match with the Brewers will be even more incentive to empty the tank.

“Every game, the Gaffer has said it doesn't really matter if you're blowing after 70 or 80 minutes, give everything you've got,” Barlaser told www.themillers.co.uk.

“We've got a lot of players to come and whoever plays, or is not playing, knows that there are always going to be opportunities and try your hardest.

“I think everyone is going to empty the tank again on Saturday and hopefully we can get a positive result.”

Barlaser has featured in every one of the Millers 2019/20 competitive fixtures so far, including the Leasing.Com clash with Manchester United U21s and the win at Shrewsbury Town in the Carabao Cup but is fully-aware that he needs to remain at his best with competition for places rife.

“I think if you didn't have competition you'd be off your game,” he added.

“You always go out to be professional but knowing someone is breathing down your neck for a place in the team just keeps you that bit sharper.

“We've got that across the pitch in all positions. The competition is good and everyone is training very well.

“The game on Tuesday was an opportunity for those with the shirts to try and keep them and we got a result, so everyone has done their bit in trying to get in the side for Saturday's game.”
