REPORT | Academy 1 v 4 Scunthorpe

29 September 2018

Rotherham United’s Academy were well beaten 4-1 by Scunthorpe United at Roundwood.

Goals from Cameron Moorfoot, Joe Busby, Miracle Okafor and Harry Jessop for the visitors secured the points, with Jacob Gratton getting the Rotherham goal.

The Millers failed to live with a blistering start from the visitors who were in front after just six minutes through Moorfoot.

It was soon 2-0 when Busby curled a shot into the top corner from 20 yards.

The game was all but won just after the half-hour mark when Okafor was sent clear to add a third.

The Millers fought back after the interval and gave themselves a glimmer of hope when Gratton pulled one back on 55 minutes.

Scunthorpe though sealed the win with four minutes remaining as Jessop latched onto a rebound from his initial shot to make it four for the visitors.

Team: Ellis; Hodgkinson (Hull 72); Beeden (Millen 80), Southern-Cooper, Johnson; Gratton, Spence, Peel-Evans (Scott 88), Wenham (Etia 72); Carlton, McGuckin.
