Saturday’s home game against Derby County has been designated as Rotherham United’s Go Green Game of Action.

The Millers and transport specialists Passenger Transport Knowledge (PTK) recently announced a partnership on a new initiative to help encourage more supporters to travel to watch games at the AESSEAL New York Stadium in more sustainable, healthy and environmentally friendly ways.

Representatives from PTK alongside members of Rotherham United’s Community Sports Trust will be outside the stadium this Saturday at the Fanzone, with information on how to participate from Maltby, Brinsworth, Wickersley and Thorpe Hesley.

A Green Travel Plan is being developed with the aim of reducing the number of supporters traveling to games in single occupancy cars, helping to lower harmful co2 emissions and reduce traffic congestion on matchdays.

The Green Travel Plan aims to encourage car sharing, the use of public transport and more walking and cycling. In order to find out how fans currently travel to the AESSEAL New York Stadium and what may encourage them to change their transport habits a travel survey was carried out by PTK.

The results of the survey can now be viewed below. Thanks to everyone who took the time to complete it.
