England coach Phil Neville has called upon the Rotherham public to again turn out in numbers ahead of next month’s international fixture against Sweden.
The Millers host the Lionesses at the AESSEAL New York Stadium, with another impressive turnout expected following the successful hosting of England’s international against Belgium back in 2016.
After recent games against Brazil and Australia, preparations continue ahead of the 2019 World Cup with Sweden set to provide stern opposition in South Yorkshire on Sunday 11th November (1.30pm).
Coach Neville says he’s looking forward to embracing the local support, as the club gear up for another international fixture at AESSEAL New York.
“We’re all looking forward to heading to Rotherham for our next fixture,” said the ex-Manchester United and Everton operator.
“It’s a fantastic stadium with great facilities and a superb atmosphere.
“The area is a real football hotbed and the town is renowned for its backing of our England teams.
“We saw over 10,000 fans pack the AESSEAL New York Stadium for the Lionesses’ game in 2016 and it’d be fantastic to repeat or even better that.
“This is another exciting fixture as part of our early preparations for next summer’s World Cup.
“We know a number of Sweden’s players well, they’re strong and will present a tough test.
“We’ve recently enjoyed two games on home soil at Notts County and Fulham and are grateful for the fantastic support we received. It makes a massive difference.
“Now, we can’t wait to head to South Yorkshire where hopefully our fans will enjoy coming along to support the Lionesses in what I’m sure will be another exciting game.”
