Rotherham United Community Sports Trust (RUCST) are overjoyed that Lawrence Sanderson has been awarded the VAR volunteer of the year award.

Lawrence has been volunteering for RUCST for several years and has become an influential member of the team. Lawrence has contributed to a variety of programmes such as the Education Academy, Premier League Kicks, Building Stronger Communities plus many more by driving the mini bus day and night enabling our participants to gain access to the services we provide across the community.

Jamie Noble, Head of Community said: “Lawrence is a key member of our team and someone we probably take for granted. He has always been on hand to support the local community where possible and without the hundreds of hours that Lawrence has volunteered we would not have been able to offer our services to the people who need them the most. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Lawrence personally, and on behalf of the Trust for all the hard work and commitment he has shown over the years.”

Voluntary Action Rotherham is the lead body for supporting, developing and promoting the voluntary and community sector in the Rotherham borough. Its core activities and associated projects are a keystone for local community engagement and development.
