REPORT | Doncaster 3 v 1 Reserves

27 November 2018

Reserves beaten by Rovers...

Rotherham United’s reserves were beaten 3-1 on Tuesday afternoon as they locked horns with near-neighbours Doncaster Rovers in The Central League Cup.

Despite the scoreline, there was positive news for the Millers at Cantley Park as the returning Sean Raggett netted a goal, in a game which saw him get back to match action amongst a youthful visiting side.

The Norwich City loanee was one of the few experienced faces to lineup in the Central League Cup game, with Laurence Bilboe and Joshua Kayode the only two other professionals in the side.

With Ciaran Toner and Matt Hamshaw once again overseeing proceedings, the second string, who top the Central League table, trailed at the interval as goals from Myron Gibbons and Max Watters gave the hosts the advantage.

Gibbons would double his tally for the afternoon in the second half but Raggett, competing in his first fixture following a lengthy lay-off with injury, netted for the Millers to provide his side with a consolation.

Millers | Bilboe; Beeden, Raggett, Southern-Cooper, Hinds; Hutchinson, Peel-Evans, Carlton, Gratton; Kayode, Lewthwaite.

SUBS | Hull, Etia, Hodgkinson, Spence, Gateshill.
