Millers to take on Saints in FA Youth Cup...

Rotherham United’s Youth Team have been handed an away tie at Premier League Southampton in the Third Round of the FA Youth Cup.

The Millers’ youngsters will travel to the South Coast to take on the Saints in what will be their first involvement in this year’s competition.

The two clubs are now in contact to confirm a time and date for this fixture, with details set to follow in due course.

Academy manager Richard Hairyes insists his side are relishing the opportunity of testing themselves against a club with Southampton's profile.

"It's a great draw for us and one I know the lads are looking forward to," he told www.themillers.co.uk.

"Our league fixtures are largely regionalised, so the opportunity to make the long trip down to the South Coast will be another new experience for the players and we know we will have to be at our best against a club like Southampton.

"We had a decent run in last year's competition and we'd like to do the same again this year, so we'll prepare them as we always do and go and hopefully give a really good account of ourselves in 2018/19's competition."
