Known for their assists on the field, Millers duo Will Vaulks and Joe Newell recently made a delivery of a different kind.
The pair were out and about last week helping the Meals on Wheels team, putting in a visit to local resident Ernest Edwards for national Meals on Wheels week.
The area here is covered by Park Care Meals, which is a family run Yorkshire business that has been providing meals to the elderly for over 20 years, and has been Rotherham City Council’s preferred supplier for over 10 years.
Winger Joe was only too pleased to help hand over the hot meals to Mr and Mrs Edwards, declaring he was proud to lend a hand to a service which helps feed countless families in Rotherham.
“It was great to come out into the local community and show our support for Meals on Wheels, something that has become a national institution over the last 50 years,” he said.
“The team at Park Care Meals provide a fundamental service to the people of Rotherham, and we are honoured to have been asked to come and lend a hand.”
Will added:
“We were delighted to meet Mr and Mrs Edwards and thank them for welcoming us into their home. As Joe said, the team at Park Care Meals do a fantastic job serving the local community and it was a real insight into how much hard work they put into what is a very important service in the local area.”
