Are you leaving school in 2018 and considering a career in sport? Rotherham United Education Academy, the only official Rotherham United Education Programme, could be the perfect choice for your next academic step.

Rotherham United Education Academy is part of the Community Sports Trust and delivers a number of high quality sports courses in Further Education for 16-19 year olds. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent education courses within our iconic spaces at the New York Stadium. We specialise in providing post 16 education in sport from a Level one in sport to a BA (Hons) in Community Coaching and Development:


Level 1 BTEC ‘Sport & Active Leisure’
Level 2 NCFE Diploma ‘Sport’
Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma ‘Sport Performance & Excellence’
Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching & Development


Across all study programmes the scholars will have the opportunity to represent Rotherham United competing in the EFL Trust Futsal & Football League (male & female). They will also compete in the EFL Cup competition which can see them play at England’s training headquarters St George’s Park.


All courses are designed to cover the core elements of health, fitness and sports performance such as Anatomy, Physiology, Sports Coaching, Sports Injuries, Sport Psychology and Performance Analysis. The courses are suited to those wanting to enter employment in the sports industry and for those wishing to progress to Higher Education to study a sport related degree such as Coaching, Physiotherapy and Sports Science.


All our education courses are delivered by qualified, enthusiastic and experienced members of teaching staff. We have world class facilities at our disposal due to our successful partnership with local sports colleges and the Football League. The learning environment is supported by the chance to work alongside staff members at the Community Sports Trust within a professional football environment.


On 12th May 2018 we will be hosting a Practical Open Day at Parkgate Astro to give people the opportunity to experience the kind of practical sessions and activities delivered to our learners at Rotherham United Education Academy. The Open Day will commence at 1pm and will also provide the chance to talk to sports lecturers on a one-to-one basis, answering any questions and providing greater detail of individual courses. There is no need to pre-book on to the Open Day.
