Ben Purrington took time out of his busy schedule last week to get pitch-side with NCS Graduate Casey Holmes.

Purrington, player ambassador for NCS (National Citizen Service) at Rotherham United Community Sport Trust, took on Casey in a head-to-head YES NO game, all to raise awareness for NCS in Rotherham and to encourage more young people to get involved! https://youtu.be/tMZ-cJbhmxc

This summer, Rotherham United Community Sports Trust will engage over 700 young people aged 15-17 years old in NCS – a government backed, youth development programmes that challenges, develops and upskills young people, readying them for their next steps.

Casey Holmes from Maltby Academy graduated NCS in 2017 and has since furthered her development through joining RUCST’s NCS Graduates Programme as well as the regional NCS Youth Board. Speaking about her post-programme experience, Casey noted how NCS had “helped her access some amazing opportunities and gave her the confidence to continue to make positive change in her local community”.

Ben has pledged his support for NCS and has asked for more young people like Casey to challenge themselves and say YES to NCS. “NCS gives young people the chance to stand on their own two-feet, make their own decisions and create change in their communities. It comes at a time in their lives where these lessons are invaluable and it’ll really help them in their futures. It’d be great to see even more young people taking part”.

For more information about NCS and to enquire as to how to sign up, contact Rotherham United Community Sports Trust on 01709 827767 or email ncs@rotherhamunited.net. NCS…it all starts at YES!
