READ | Sky Bet reveal their odds for EFL return - News

EFL title sponsor Sky Bet have revealed their odds for the opening weekend of the EFL season, after the 2018/19 fixtures were released today.

The season will begin at 8pm on Friday 3^rd August, when Derby County travel south to play Reading in Frank Lampard’s first game in management.

It will be an intriguing battle, as Reading manager Paul Clement coached Lampard for two years, when assistant to Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea, including the 2009-10 title winning season, in which Chelsea legend Lampard scored 22 goals.

Sky Bet have The Rams 7/4 to come out on top, with Reading slight favourites at 3/2. The draw is 23/10.

The Sky Bet League One season kicks off at 12.30pm on Saturday 4^th August when Charlton Athletic travel to the Stadium of Light to play Sunderland for the first time since December 2005, when both sides were Premier League outfits.

The Addicks are 3/1 to win, with title-favourites Sunderland 10/11.

Swansea City’s first game back in the Sky Bet Championship will be played at 5.30pm on 4^th August when they travel to Sheffield United.

Graham Potter was named the new Swans boss at the end of last season and will be hoping to guide them back to the Premier League at the first time of asking (3/1).

Sky Bet make Swansea 9/5 to beat the Blades, with Chris Wilder’s men 7/5 to get the three points.

Marco Bielsa will have to wait until Sunday to get his Leeds United managerial career started, as they welcome Gary Rowett’s Stoke City to Elland Road.

Sky Bet make Stoke favourites for an immediate return to the Premier League (7/4), while Leeds are 7/2 to reach the top flight for the first time since 2004.

Leeds are 3/2 for the win, while Stoke are 7/4 to take full points from Rowett’s first match in charge.

Aston Villa will be looking to bounce back at the first opportunity from their Play-Off heartbreak, when they take on Hull City on Monday 6^th August.

Villa manager Steve Bruce successfully negotiated Hull through the Play-Offs in 2016, but couldn’t repeat the trick last season with Villa, as they went down 1-0 to Fulham.

Villa appear to have run into financial troubles over the summer and Sky Bet have them at 5/1 for promotion.

They’re 9/5 to beat Hull on the opening day, with Nigel Adkins’ Hull City 7/5 and the draw 12/5.
