RUCST will be using the EFL Day of Disabilities to put all the disability programmes under the spotlight. The EFL Day of Disabilities has been timed to coincide with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

All 72 EFL clubs have come together to showcase all of the positive work done within their communities to create an inclusive and supportive environment for their disabled supporters.

Currently, RUCST offer a variety of provision for service users with disabilities, one of the trusts current projects is funded by South Yorkshire Foundation and provides young people with disabilities an opportunity to gain 6 weeks work experience within a professional industry, within the different departments of the trust. So far RUCST have had 4 young people complete the programme and are looking forward to working with another 6 before the project end in July 2019.

In addition to the project above, RUCST are delivering a wide variety of sessions that include; reading programmes, PE provision, PPA, lunchtime clubs, after school clubs, , school sports programme and holidays clubs.

Another successful programme that is delivered by RUCST is the Ability Counts football. Ability Counts is an inclusive football session for young people and adults with disabilities and impairments.

The teams are pan-disability which means anyone with a disability impairments can be involved, the session is for individuals with visual impairment, deaf or hearing impairment, intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder and physical disability.

RUCST have 4 teams, u12’s team (ages 7-11), u16’s team (ages 12-15), adult’s championship (16+) and adults league one (16+).
