READ | Merry Christmas from RUDSA

The Committee at RUDSA would like to take this opportunity to wish all our members and everyone connected with Rotherham United, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Having formed around March last year, it is fantastic that we already have over forty members. We have already held two very enjoyable open events with Les Payne and Richard Wood, our Club Captain, and the next is planned for 28th February 2019 at 6.30pm at AESSEAL New York Stadium.  We would like to take this opportunity to again thank both Richard and Les for their time. Les provided us with a fascinating incite into the world of a journalist covering our beloved Rotherham United.  Richard, demonstrated to us why he is such an RUFC legend with all our fans and his colleagues, as he showed what a fantastic, caring and honest person he is – no wonder he wears a magic hat!

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank John Bird, Head of Supporter Services, for his amazing support in helping us to set up and move forward. We really could not have done this without his assistance. The sponsorship provided by Jon Harrison (One Black Bear) and ASAP Digital Print Company is also greatly appreciated and has made our journey so far, possible.

Rotherham United as a club and Jamie Noble and his staff at Rotherham United Community Sports Trust have been great in supporting, encouraging and enabling us to set up and develop a disabled supporters association.  Having spoken to supporters at other clubs and to Level Playing Field who have been very helpful, we appreciate how lucky we are, as supporters with disabilities and long-term health conditions, to have a Chairman, Board and staff at Rotherham United who value our opinions and listen to our needs.

Last, but by no means least, we would like to thank Paul Warne, his staff and the players for making us so proud to be Rotherham United fans. To have a manager, staff and players who give everything for the badge and are always so willing to help and support local people is very rare and is much appreciated. Thank you for giving us such a memorable 2018, not only by winning promotion from League One but by giving your all, making our Saturdays great again and showing that Rotherham United can compete in the Championship. You have put the pride back into our club!

Here’s to a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for everyone.

Up the Millers!
