Millers raise £780 for local hospice...
Rotherham United would like to thank supporters for their kind donations to the bucket collectors from the Rotherham Hospice at the recent home game with Charlton Athletic, which saw us raise a fantastic total of £780.
Volunteers from the Broom-based charity were on hand around the grounds at AESSEAL New York Stadium ahead of the home clash with the Addicks, in an attempt to raise funds for the running of the hospice.
As has been the case at previous collections, you the supporters, dug deep to raise a brilliant total for the Rotherham Hospice as we continue to show our support for one of the town’s most highly-regarded charities.
After tallying up the monies, Head of Community Jamie Noble took time to place on record his thanks to all of the fans that donated to the cause, whilst expressing his delight at another opportunity for the club to back the charity.
“We are really proud of our affiliation with the hospice, which is a fantastic cause in the local area that has touched the hearts of many of our supporters and we were delighted to show that support at the recent home game with Charlton,” he told www.themillers.co.uk.
“On behalf of the club, I would like to wholeheartedly thank all of you that regularly get behind these fundraisers and it was great to see the total from another successful bucket collection.
“Having spoken to people in the community that have either been involved with, or affected by the work that the Rotherham Hospice does, I know we are lucky to have a facility like it in the local area and your generosity at fundraisers like this helps to raise vital funds to ensure they can continue the good work they do for the borough.”
