Kieffer Moore talks to www.themillers.co.uk post-Bury...

After two goals and a man-of-the-match performance, in-form striker Kieffer Moore was delighted to help the Millers to a 3-2 win over Bury this afternoon.

The forward’s first was a calm finish after an exquisite touch in the box, before nodding home his side’s second with a powerful header. But the striker still thinks there’s room for improvement.

“We were very sloppy and didn’t defend our set-pieces well at all,” said Moore, speaking to themillers.co.uk. “It was two free headers but it’s something we’ll work on. We will work on it and get better.

“We want to try and eradicate our mistakes. We want to win games but we want clean sheets as well.”

Taking his tally to six for the season so far, the big forward has thanked Paul Warne for showing faith in him.

“It’s all down to the manager, really, in selecting me every week” continued Moore. “It’s his confidence in me and having confidence in myself and my own ability. So, I think all I needed was that belief in me. He works with me near enough every day. We’re always speaking and working together, it’s going really well.

“To win the man of the match is a great achievement and I’m very grateful towards the people who select the award and to the fans.

“The service I’m getting is brilliant. For both of the goals they were great balls in. If I’m getting myself in the right positions, I know the ball will come in so it’s down to me to put them away.

“It’s amazing to score here in front of these fans. The fans are fantastic. I’m just loving my football and I love scoring goals here.”

The 24-year-old is targeting a third successive victory on Tuesday night, as we welcome Walsall to the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

“Back-to-back wins is what we strive to do,” he added. “Now we’re in a position where we can’t rest on our laurels. Walsall will be a tough game on Tuesday. They’ll come at us.”
