Millers thank fans following impressive season ticket uptake...

Rotherham United would like to place on record our sincere thanks to supporters that have already opted to commit to a season ticket with the club for the 2017/18 campaign, after yet another positive week of sales which brings us to the first of our deadlines.

The ticket office at AESSEAL New York Stadium has been inundated with calls, online applications and people coming in to either renew or buy a season ticket for the first time ahead of Sky Bet League One campaign which is set to kick off in August.

The club are delighted to announce that sales are quickly approaching the 5,500-mark with early bird prices still available before the ‘new’ prices come into effect on 22nd July. With plenty of time still left to purchase, we anticipate coming close to last season’s total when kicking off in August.

Following the most recent update on ticket sales, Rotherham United Chairman Tony Stewart expressed his gratitude towards everyone that has guaranteed their seat for the new campaign and insists he is expecting an exciting year in 2017/18.

“First of all I would like to thank each and every one of you that have chosen to join us again in the new season at this early stage,” he told www.themillers.co.uk.

“The uptake on season tickets over the summer has been very encouraging, as it has been every year that we have been in this stadium and there is a real air of optimism building around the place as Paul Warne continues to prepare for the new season.

“The backing has been excellent since I took over the football club and this year has been no different, I am delighted to know that so many Millers will be returning to support us and that there will also be plenty of new faces on the terraces next season.

“We have already learned of our opponents for the Carabao Cup and it promises to be an interesting encounter when we take on the newly-promoted Lincoln City. Like everyone, I am eagerly anticipating the release of the full league schedule on Wednesday, which is when the excitement of the new campaign will really kick in.

“I can assure you that work is continuing on a daily basis to identify and bring in new faces, with Paul Warne and his staff speaking constantly with the recruitment team. I would like to welcome Michael Ihiekwe and Darren Potter, who are the first two players through the door and I am sure it will not be long before more of our summer targets join them in putting pen-to-paper with us.”

The first of the season ticket deadlines comes tomorrow (Saturday 17th June, 1pm) which will signal the last chance for current season ticket holders to renew their seat. Any seats not purchased before this time will go on general sale on Monday 19th June at 9am.
