Paul Warne talks to www.themillers.co.uk...

Manager Paul Warne was full of praise for his Rotherham United side after an impressive 1-7 victory over Floridsdorfer AC at FAC-Platz.

The Millers started their Austrian tour in fine style with goals from new signing Kieffer Moore (2), David Ball, Jon Taylor, Jonson Clarke-Harris, Michael Ihiekwe and Lee Frecklington, as Warne watched a positive showing from his side.

After the game the Millers boss hailed his team for their determination to keep going, after a rigourous opening to their pre-season camp in Lindabrunn.

“It was a step up in class from the Parkgate game,” Warne told www.themillers.co.uk

“Considering the training we have put into the lads, for example Frecks put in nearly 16km in three sessions, they have come here and played really well. To come away with a win was pleasing, but the way we played was also impressive.”

New signing Moore enjoyed a good start with his new club, netting twice in his 60 minute stint, whilst also going close on another two occasions.

Warne was full of praise with all his strikers, with each playing a significant role in what was a good win.

“It was good for Kieffer to get a couple of goals,” Warne added.

“You can see what he brings to the team. He has settled in really well. Bally and Jono also scored, and I thought Jamie Proctor was excellent when he came on. I am really pleased. The lads are all buying into it, they are a close group, they are working really hard and if they keep playing like that it is going to make my job picking the team difficult. As a manager I go back really happy.”
