There has been a familiar face around Roundwood over the past couple of days with former Miller Frazer Richardson joining up for pre-season training.

The Wickersley-born defender, who enjoyed a two-year spell with the Millers between 2014-2016, made contact with Millers boss Paul Warne regarding the possibility of improving his fitness with his former club.

Warne says it has been great to see the popular figure back with the club, but confirmed that there was no guarantee of an extended stay.

“I know Frazer really well,” Warne confirmed to www.themillers.co.uk

“He phoned me up and asked if he could come and train with the Mighty Millers. There is no pressure on either of us, there is no expectation. If he does really well there possibly could be something there for him, but I did say there were obviously no guarantees.

“He has trained really well over the last couple of days so we’ll keep looking at him. In the meantime if this helps him get sorted somewhere else then great for him.

“Frazer is a great pro, he’s good around the group and I have got a lot of time for him.”

The Millers are in pre-season action this Saturday against Parkgate at Roundwood, kick off 2pm.

Warne’s side fly out to Austria on the Sunday for a week long training camp.
