Rotherham United’s South Yorkshire derby against Sheffield Wednesday has been selected for live coverage on Sky Sports.

The Millers host the Owls on Tuesday 4th April, kick off at 7.45pm at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

The South Yorkshire derby is one of four EFL games selected to appear live on Sky Sports across March and early April.

Today’s announcement is the first since the EFL and Sky moved to the rolling five-week minimum commitment as we approach the business end of the season. Further fixtures for later in April will be announced as they are confirmed.

It’s a Friday night fixture up first, with Ian Holloway’s QPR side making the trip north to take on Steve McClaren’s Derby County in the East Midlands at 7.45pm on Friday 31 March.

The winners of that match will be able to sit back and enjoy the rest of the footballing weekend, starting with a Saturday night clash at the Madejski Stadium as promotion rivals Reading and Leeds United go head-to-head on Saturday 1 April in a tantalising 5.30pm kick-off.

There is then another burst of two EFL games in two days. Firstly there is an all-Yorkshire clash between Rotherham United and Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday 4 April, before Norwich City’s crucial clash with Huddersfield Town is broadcast live from the John Smith’s Stadium on Wednesday 5 April.

Further fixtures will be announced on a rolling basis between now and the end of the season. The EFL has made a joint commitment with broadcast partner Sky to ensure all clubs and supporters are given a minimum of five weeks’ notice ahead of any matches being rescheduled for live television coverage.

The advanced notice is designed to provide supporters with as much time as possible to allow for any alterations to travel plans that may be required.
