General Manager James Leggitt rounds-up the recent activity at RULFC...

Good afternoon and welcome back to all things Lady Millers!

There has been a lot of change since these notes last went to print and all of it is positive and good news for the ladies!

The Community Sports Trust has kindly financed the club's home fixtures and training facilities, which is a huge boost and we'd like to thank Jamie Noble for his contribution in giving the ladies the best platform on which to perform.

We have also been presented with tracksuits for the coaching staff and training kit for the ladies, and on behalf of everyone at RULFC, I would like to say a big thank you to the club for this.

The FAWPL season kicked off last weekend but due to the changes behind the scenes we have been given a few weeks dispensation to iron out all of the details with our rebranding  and a whole host of other things going on. As a result, our first game of the season will be away in the cup against Derby County Ladies on Sunday 3rd September 2017.

Unfortunately due to this there have been rumours about the club which we would like to put straight; RULFC are alive and kicking!

There is a lot of hard work being put in behind the scenes from a number of parties to ensure that we establish a positive image of RULFC. Whilst we recognise that we still have a fair way to go, the support we have had from everyone involved with the club has been overwhelming, and for this we would again like to say a massive thank you!

We have set the wheels in motion with our rebranding of the club, with a new crest at the top of the agenda, while we have brought our grassroots section under the banner with their new name Rotherham United Whitehill Girls.

I have also been asked by our manager, Simon Darke, to include the following message, as I know he was equally keen to express his gratitude for everyone’s efforts to date.

"The help & support we are receiving from everyone associated with Rotherham United is amazing and has given me more freedom to concentrate on team affairs.

“I can rest easy in the knowledge that everything behind the scenes is running efficiently and professionally".

Once again, thank you for taking the time to read our page and we hope to see you all at our next home game Sunday 10th September against TNS, 2pm KO

Don’t forget, Rotherham United season ticket holders get free admission!
