NCS “it all starts at YES!” engages individuals from all areas of the community in a fun, action-packed programme that helps nurture their transition into adult life. The programme gives young people a chance to meet new people and make new friends whilst doing something truly inspiring with their spring, summer or autumn.
Week 1: Experience the freedom of living away from home and take part in challenging outdoor activities such as gauge scrambling, rock climbing, abseiling and canoeing! Get to know your NCS family and develop team work and leadership skills.
Week 2: Get a real sense of independence and live life like a student whilst staying in University accommodation. Whether it’s budgeting for yourself, cooking a meal for your friends or attending pop-up interactive lectures, week 2 is all about developing life skills. Take part in our student themed activities including ‘a day in the life of a student’, NCS got talent, neon night and Master Chef.
Weeks 3&4: Come together with your NCS team mates and put your shared skills and experiences to the test by planning and delivering your very own social action project in the local community. Gain real life examples to boost your CV and don’t forget, NCS is also recognised by UCAS!
