Kieffer Moore talks to www.themillers.co.uk...
Summer recruit Kieffer Moore insists his new club’s pre-season form suggests they can hold their own against Sky Bet League One’s heavyweights in 2017-18.
The towering centre forward, who joined up with his new teammates in Austria after agreeing a season-long loan from Ipswich Town, admits he feels on top of his game after a summer of hard work and says he expects to be challenging at the top end of the table as the season progresses.
“You can tell even though it's pre-season by the way that we've performed against the teams that we've played that we've got a very good chance,” Kieffer told www.themillers.co.uk.
“I feel like a different player now and I feel more headstrong.
“In the summer I spent a lot of time, not only on my physical fitness but on my mental strength as well, so I feel the best I've ever been.”
“I've really enjoyed it. I really enjoy playing football and the whole place has been amazing from the staff, to the players and the whole town really. It's been very welcoming and I know I'm going to be able to thrive here.
“I've got a target for goals in my head, but I'll keep them to myself. I know I'm going to get the game time it's just whether when it is and when it isn't. I'm going to be looking to score as many goals as I can.”
Moore will be buoyed by etching his name onto the scoresheet in the club’s final pre-season outing against Barnsley at the weekend and whilst he admits that it was good to be amongst the goals, he was quick to point to the overall benefit of the summer fixtures.
“For me it was really good,” he continued.
“I've enjoyed playing and it was mainly about getting that fitness because I know to be in this team you've got to be fit.
“I've got to a very good level of fitness where I can just keep going and the goals is a reward, but I think the way that I've played in other games is something that I've been happy with.
“We're a very fit bunch, very resilient and we'll work together to do the best we can this season.”
