Rotherham United’s Academy continued their push for a top two finish in the Youth Alliance League as they recorded a comfortable 4-0 win over local rivals Chesterfield.
A brace from the returning Akeel Francis added to strikes from Lewis Murr and Akeem Hinds ensured that Garreth Barker’s youngsters emerged as victors against the Spireites and strengthened their position at the top end of the table.
The result marked the Academy’s second 4-0 triumph in as many games, having beaten York City by the same scoreline a week prior to the trip to Derbyshire.
