Laurence Bilboe talks to www.themillers.co.uk...
Rotherham United goalkeeper Laurence Bilboe says he was ‘delighted’ to agree a one-year extension to his current contract, which will see him remain at AESSEAL New York Stadium until the summer of 2018.
The young stopper has impressed the coaching staff sufficiently in his first year as a professional to earn himself an extended deal, having been a regular on the substitutes’ bench during the 2016/17 campaign and admits the exposure to the senior setup has greatly benefitted his development.
“I'm obviously delighted to sign for another year. It's been my first season of being a professional,” Laurence told www.themillers.co.uk.
“Looking back I was playing in the Under 18's last season and you don't think that in your first season as a professional that you're going to take such a big step, but I've enjoyed it and it's only made me better as a person and a player.
“I think it's given me more maturity being in and around the first team and travelling with them to games means you have to grow up really.
“Luckily I've had the chance to do that this year and I'm just looking to improve every week and then go again next year.”
