Rotherham United’s Academy got back to winning ways last weekend with a 2-0 victory on the road over Oldham Athletic.
The Millers returned to Youth Alliance League action following defeat in the cup against Blackpool and had Tom Maguire and Revarnelle James to thank for their triumph over the Latics.
Garreth Barker’s Academy squad has been hit hard by injuries in recent weeks with Trae Adeyemi and Suleman Naeem both sidelined, but a youthful side battled hard to earn a deserved three points in Lancashire.
“We had to soak up some pressure, particularly late in the game when we had a number of schoolboys on the pitch,” Barker told www.themillers.co.uk
“Then it was just a case of managing the game but we did have opportunities even with the schoolboys on. We’ve hit uprights and allsorts and it was a good performance against Oldham who are traditionally very very strong.”
