Alan Stubbs talks to Millers Player HD...
Manager Alan Stubbs has confirmed both Joe Newell and Jake Forster-Caskey will return to the matchday squad for the game with Blackburn Rovers tomorrow.
Both missed the midweek draw with Nottingham Forest, but after coming through training this week unscathed, they are both included in the squad that travels to Lancashire for the game with Owen Coyle's Rovers.
"We had a couple missing from the other night," Stubbs told Millers Player HD.
"We were without Jake Forster-Caskey and Joe Newell. Joe has had a couple of days for his toe to settle down, he has got a fracture to his hand but he has a cast on that so that's not really a problem. Jake had a little bit of soreness and stiffness in his knee. He has had a scan and that has showed up no damage so he has trained today. Both will come back into the squad."
Stubbs will be without defenders Darnell Fisher and Richard Wood are missing the game through suspension and injury respectively.
Fisher is serving a one-match ban following his sending off for two bookable offences on Wednesday night, whilst Wood is currently nursing a rib injury.
"Woody got a whack in his ribs in a behind closed doors game," Stubbs added.
"Initially it was painful, and then it got worse so he has missed training for the last five or six days. He joined in training today, it was obviously very light, but he won't be in the squad for the weekend.
On Fisher's absence, Stubbs continued:
"I think straight away it is a chance for someone else. It is like everything in football, players are not in the team suddenly things happen whether it is suspensions, illness, injury - that happens. Then an opportunity comes for someone else, so that will be the case on Saturday."
