Rotherham United invites supporters to get to their seats early on Saturday...Rotherham United are delighted to announce that they will welcome back members of the famous 1980/81 team this Saturday for the club’s home fixture against Reading at AESSEAL New York Stadium.
Following some tireless work on the phones by hospitality host and club legend John Breckin we are thrilled to confirm that we will be joined in South Yorkshire by the likes of Tony Towner, Mick Gooding, Ray Mountford and John Green, all of whom will be presented to the home supporters ahead of this weekend’s clash with the Royals.
Rotherham United are inviting all supporters to take to their seats for 2:45pm to show their appreciation to the Third Division Championship winners.
Breckin is looking forward to being joined by his former teammates and has called for Millers’ fans to get into the stadium early to give the returning players a fitting reception.
“I am overwhelmed by the response I’ve had from the lads from the 80/81 team having invited them to join us at AESSEAL New York Stadium,” he enthused.
“I have been told that a lot of supporters remember our playing days fondly and having spoken to the majority of the team, I can conclusively say that we enjoyed that era just as much.
“There are some real legends returning on Saturday and lads joining us from as far away as the South Coast so please show them your appreciation as you have done with my guests so many times in the past.”
